Interview Tips for Eugene Job Seekers

If your resume and cover letter were solid and the company has reached out to you, then it is time to prepare yourself for the interview. This is where you really make your case to be a part of the company, so there are plenty of things to keep in mind when you are interviewing for Eugene jobs. Here are some things you should do, and some things you definitely should not do, that will help you land that position.

1. Do practice before interviewing devote at least a week to working on your delivery, anticipating questions, and perfecting your tone. For added authenticity, get some friends to do a mock interview with you.

2. Do not interrupt your interviewer: listening more than speaking can be applied to all facets of life, but interviews particularly. Interrupting your interviewer comes across as rude and/or desperate, so don’t do it.

3. Do ask questions: show some engagement by bringing some questions of your own to ask during the conversation. This will show that you are interested in the company.

4. Don’t lie: this seems obvious but exaggerations and “little white lies” are still common in interviews. If you don’t know an answer to a question, it is always better to admit your ignorance than to make something up on the fly and don’t try to embellish any of your achievements when the interviewer asks about them.
