Job DetailsJob LocationEugene, ORSalary Range$24.00 - $26.00 DescriptionJob OverviewThe Packaging Maintenance Technician & Trainer oversees preventative maintenance for Ninkasi/Great Frontier Holdings' packaging lines, trouble-shoots mechanical issues as they arise, trains line operators, and works with the Packaging Supervisor to ensure appropriate levels of machine coverage. The primary responsibility of the Packaging Maintenance Technician and Trainer is to ensure all packaging lines are in working order to meet production needs.This position rotates through graveyard and day shifts with varying schedules as needed to ensure consistent support and coverage for packaging line operations.At Ninkasi/Great Frontier Holdings, we take our core values very seriously. All team members are expected to embrace and embody these values every day:•One team•Quality output in everything we do•Creative pursuit of mastery•Integrity in our actions•Successful integration of work and lifeEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMachine Maintenance•Follow Great Frontier Holdings Ninkasi's preventative maintenance program, making improvements/updates as needed.•Ensure Packaging Team understands and adheres to the preventive maintenance program.•Perform preventative maintenance and trouble-shoot mechanical issues as they arise.•Perform equipment adjustments and enhancements as required by production demands.•Act as a technical expert on assigned packaging line, consulting external resources as required.•Work with Packaging Supervisor to schedule process improvement time for maintenance priorities and cleanliness.•Report to Facilities Manager to coordinate additional maintenance, as necessary.Training•Train packaging operators on the essential duties and safe operation of packaging equipment.•Train packaging operators on daily, weekly, monthly cleaning and maintenance checks.•Respond to individual inquiries for training support and lead team refresher training, if necessary.•Alongside the Packaging Supervisor, assess the technical skill of each operator and provide input for Training Scorecard records.•Interface with Packaging Supervisor to facilitate smooth operations and appropriate machine coverage, as necessary.•Provide training feedback to operators in a timely fashion; report positive or negative performance trends to Packaging Supervisor for departmental follow-up.Additional Duties•Maintain SOPs to meet changing machine specifications, training needs, and an evolving business.•Embrace best practices and ensure proper operations. Operate canning, bottling or kegging line as needed.•Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time.•Maintain a safe environment of operation.•Perform all tasks in an efficient, safe, and productive manner.•Communicate regularly and efficiently with Ninkasi staff.•Arrive to each shift on time with a positive attitude.•Perform other duties as assigned.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
