The person in this position will serve as the Varsity Head Football Coach under the direction and supervision of the JCHS principal and athletic director. The head coach is responsible for the planning, organizing, and directing of the JCHS football program at all levels as well as for the conduct of athletes in the locker room, at practices, on the bus, and at games. The expectation is that we are developing student athletes toward a program that develops character and skills beyond the wins and losses on the field. There is potential for a teaching position within the district or high school.

The use of independent judgment and decision-making is required in many matters not having established rules, regulations, policies, or precedent. All coaches and advisers are required to take the on-line staff training on Child Abuse Identification and Prevention in Oregon Schools; Sexual Misconduct- Staff to Student; Heads Up Football and Bullying Prevention in Oregon Schools. All coaching contracts are issued on a year-to-year basis.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

1. Possess or be able to obtain a current first aid card;
2. Knowledge and ability to help build and maintain a quality football program;
3. Ability to communicate, work effectively with, and maintain effective working rapport with students, staff, parents, and patrons;
4. Minimum of one-year competitive football coaching experience(high school or higher);
5. Desire and ability to work with high school age athletes;
6. Ability to maintain student confidentiality;
7. Responsibility to know, understand, and adhere to district policy and school expectations.

1. Ability to plan and lead practices;
2. Responsible for the conduct of athletes (locker room, practice, bus, and games);
3. Responsible for equipment issue and care of equipment;
4. Ability to provide athletes with proper conditioning and ability to prevent and treat injuries.
