Position Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Technician to ensure the high standards of our production processes and products. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Agriculture, Soil Science, Biology, or Microbiology, with a foundational understanding of laboratory procedures. Final year students pursuing degrees in the mentioned fields with relevant coursework or lab experience are also encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough quality checks on incoming raw materials to ensure they meet established standards.
• Perform regular and comprehensive quality assessments on production processes to maintain consistency and adherence to quality protocols.
• Inspect finished goods to verify compliance with specified quality criteria.
• Oversee and manage the labeling process for products, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
• Demonstrate expertise in change control, deviations, traceability, and other quality-related processes.
• Write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality control processes.
• Work on regulatory standards such as TaMU (if applicable) to ensure compliance.
• Maintain inventory of lab supplies and equipment, ensuring their availability for quality control procedures.
• Train workers on SOPs and quality control measures.
• Coordinate and send products to third-party labs for testing as necessary.
• Support Research and Development (R&D) initiatives by contributing to experiments, data collection, or other related tasks.
• Assist in supporting regulatory tasks as required, ensuring adherence to industry standards and guidelines.
• Keep detailed records of customer complaints and product defects for further analysis and improvement.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies, sometimes weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Stand or sit for extended periods during lab work and quality control procedures.
• Dexterity and physical coordination for handling laboratory equipment and conducting tests.
• Visual acuity and attention to detail for precise analysis and examination of samples and products.
• Ability to work in a laboratory setting with potential exposure to various chemicals and substances following safety protocols.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Agriculture, Soil Science, Biology, or Microbiology is preferred. Final year students in these fields with relevant coursework or lab experience are encouraged to apply.
• Proven ability to conduct comprehensive quality checks on raw materials, production processes, and finished goods.
• Knowledge of quality control processes, change management, deviations, and traceability.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
• Experience in writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality control.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards such as TaMU (if relevant).
• Ability to maintain inventory and oversee lab supplies and equipment.
• Capacity to train and guide workers on SOPs and quality procedures.
• Familiarity with coordinating product testing in third-party labs.
• Knowledge and application of analytical chemistry techniques.
