Job Description
Job Title: Log Loader Operator Day Shift - Immediate Opening!
Pay: $25.71/hour
Hours:
Monday - Thursday, 6:00AM - 3:30PM
Friday, 6:00AM - 10:00AM
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a hardworking Log Loader Operator for a Temp-Hire position to assist with a variety of clean-up and utility responsibilities at a local lumber mill in Springfield.
As a Log Loader Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Safely operate log loader equipment (e.g., knuckleboom, wheel loader, or tracked loader) to lift and move logs.
- Load and unload logs onto trucks, railcars, or conveyors.
- Organize and stack logs in the yard according to species, size, or customer requirements.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance (e.g., checking fluids, greasing, minor repairs).
- Communicate with truck drivers, yard crew, and supervisors to coordinate movements and ensure safety.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the log yard.
- Follow all safety regulations, environmental rules, and company policies.
- Record load counts and assist with inventory tracking when needed.
- Previous experience operating log loaders or similar heavy equipment required
- Familiarity with logging industry practices and safety procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license
