Job description
The Production Planner is a key support role within the Demand Planning Department at L.A.B. Golf, acting as a bridge between Demand Planning, Inventory Management and Production teams. This position supports order planning, inventory tracking, and cross-department communication to ensure the timely production and fulfillment of custom and stock orders. Responsibilities include managing reporting tools, updating inventory systems, and providing cross-functional support to Inventory Management, Sales, Production, and Shipping. This entry-level position offers hands-on learning, direct mentorship, and a path toward a production planning career.
Responsibilities and Duties
Planning Operations Support
• Collaborate directly with the Planners to execute daily planning activities across custom and stock orders.
• Plan and print custom and stock orders using the purchasing management and open order reporting systems.
• Develop and manage builds for Player Development, VIP/MHU, and high-profile custom orders.
• Cross-train across planning functions including order changes, print processes, and shipping workflows to ensure flexible team support.
Fulfillment and Inventory Coordination
• Act as the liaison between Demand Planning and the Inventory Management team to ensure timely execution of builds and order fulfillment.
• Conduct inventory audits in partnership with Inventory Management to ensure inventory accuracy across all product lines.
• Maintain and update live inventory reporting systems with detailed data on in-house and in-transit inventory.
• Monitor component and finished goods inventory and notify Demand Planning leadership of potential supply gaps or overages.
• Support purchasing activities by flagging low-stock items and assisting in component procurement for Production Teams such as Quality, Warranty, Machine Room, Outlet, and Shipping teams.
Cross-Functional Communication
• Serve as a point of contact for Inventory Management, Sales, Production, and Shipping teams regarding order changes, expedite requests, and inventory availability.
• Provide exceptional internal customer service to departments across L.A.B. Golf by delivering timely, accurate responses and updates.
• Collaborate with Customer Service to troubleshoot and resolve issues in the purchasing management system.
• Attend team and interdepartmental meetings to align weekly goals and execution strategies.
Reporting & Process Improvement
• Track daily and weekly planning activity, contributing to reporting and dashboard updates for Demand Planning.
• Proactively identify and recommend solutions for recurring issues that impact efficiency, order accuracy, or fulfillment timelines.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and assist in building scalable planning processes for the growing team.
General Duties
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and uphold company standards for professionalism.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned in support of the Demand Planning Department.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience in production planning, inventory control, or logistics coordination will be considered.
Experience
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in production/demand planning, demand coordination, or fulfillment support within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Familiarity with consumer goods or sports equipment manufacturing (especially golf-related) is highly preferred.
• Experience supporting cross-functional teams (e.g., Inventory Management, Customer Service, Shipping) or in a similar collaborative environment.
• Experience in high-SKU or fast-paced production environments is a plus
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, conditional formatting, and basic dashboard building).
• Experience working with ERP or order management systems for tracking builds, inventory, and open orders.
• Familiarity with cloud-based inventory reporting tools and order scheduling platforms.
• Comfortable working with both physical inventory and digital inventory systems.
