Research Coordinator / Research Assistant 3 (half time)
Approximately 20 hours per week.
Project Description
In this project, we will be implementing Mom-Net, a coach-facilitated, Internet-based depression intervention for mothers of young children within Head Start agencies across the country. Low-income women of childbearing age are at high risk for depression and often do not access treatment. Mom-Net was developed to address this problem and has been shown to be effective in two controlled trials. The specific goals of the project are twofold: 1) Examine the effectiveness of the intervention when delivered in this community setting with Head Start staff serving as coaches; and 2) Examine and compare the feasibility and outcomes of two implementation strategies, which differ in coaching intensity. This project is a critical step in our over-arching goal of disseminating and implementing Mom-Net widely in community settings.
Preference will be given to candidates who: 1) Have experience interacting with community agencies; 2) Have experience in clinical settings, such as crisis or treatment centers; 3) Are bilingual/cultural Spanish/English ; 4) Have experience working with research participants or with families in community/social service settings and 5) Have experience with project coordination.
The RA 3/Research Coordinator will assist in most aspects of a research project. Employees in this position will coordinate recruitment, screening, and assessment, including presenting trainings for screening of research participants for depressive symptoms, help respond to participants with suicide ideation, help develop written materials associated with the project, meet with key representatives of participating Head Start agencies as part of the process of screening and recruitment, monitor and support data collection and documentation, and help in the supervision of research assistants.
