Responsibilities
  • Accountable for all aspects of pharmacy practice within legal and corporate policy limits.
  • Manage and maximize financial performance of the pharmacy department (budget monitoring, labor cost management, and cost control).
  • Provide staff training and development and leadership for the pharmacy team.
  • Deliver excellence in customer service and manage prescription pricing and generic utilization.
  • Control inventory and participate in corporate approved clinical services.
  • Comply with all applicable state and federal laws and company procedures.
Minimum Position Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy and/or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) from an accredited U.S. School of Pharmacy
  • 2+ years related retail experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • License must be in good standing
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Ability to read and interpret prescriptions and documents
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of information
  • Ability and willingness to continue education as necessary
  • Participation in clinical programs following company sponsored training
Preferred Experience / Education
  • Relevant Pharmacy Board Certification(s)
  • Experience in business management or equivalent
  • Ability to supervise the pharmacy team and manage workflow to reduce customer wait times
  • Experience directing sales plans and initiatives
  • Ability to perform duties of a registered pharmacist and comply with legal and company requirements
  • Leadership in inventory management, ordering accuracy and training
  • Compliance with controlled substance procedures
  • Experience monitoring third-party insurance profitability and handling issues promptly
  • Scheduling to control labor costs and maintain compliance with policies
  • Maintaining pharmacy records per laws and company policies
  • Directing pharmacy to meet budgeted labor, volume, inventory and sales goals
  • Engaging in community health initiatives and disease state management services
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Supervising and coaching direct reports, with performance reviews and feedback
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
