Consultant Risk - Workers Compensation Compliance Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized professional to support our clients partners in maintaining compliance with Workers Compensation Qualified Self-Insurance programs and/or monopolistic fund requirements across multiple U.S. states. This role involves managing complex regulatory reporting schedules, coordinating with clients and third-party administrators (TPAs), and ensuring timely and accurate submissions to state agencies. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with multi-state workers compensation compliance and a strong ability to manage deadlines and documentation.

Location: This is a fully remote position - Eastern Time (EST) business hours.

Compensation: $55.00 - $59.00 per hour depending on experience

Typical Day-to-Day Activities

  • Review and manage a calendar of state-specific reporting deadlines for each client and entity.
  • Request and collect required documentation such as payroll data, hours worked, loss runs, and financial statements from clients, TPAs, or other sources.
  • Maintain a strict follow-up schedule to ensure timely receipt of all required information.
  • Enter and update data in various state web portals, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Guide clients through the certification and submission process on state portals.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all correspondence, submissions, actuarial reports, and proof of compliance.
  • Monitor and review surety bond or other security requirements for each state.
  • Coordinate with actuaries and state agencies to support security level reviews and adjustments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Track and adhere to state-specific reporting schedules.
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders to gather necessary compliance documentation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry into state systems.
  • Provide guidance to clients on portal usage and certification processes.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Monitor and manage surety bond/security requirements and coordinate with actuaries as needed.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Prior experience with Workers Compensation compliance, preferably across multiple states
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and follow-up tasks
  • Comfortable navigating and learning various state web portals

Preferred:

  • Experience working with TPAs or in a consulting environment
  • Familiarity with self-insurance regulations and monopolistic fund states
  • Background in risk management, insurance, or regulatory compliance

Pay Details: $55.00 to $59.00 per hour
