Description:

Field Service Engineer (Gas Turbines)

Location: Remote (Continental U.S.) | Travel: Up to 80% nationally & internationally

Client Overview & Mission

The client operates at the forefront of the energy and power generation sector, helping global customers achieve operational excellence through high-performance gas turbine technologies. Their mission centers on delivering reliable, efficient, and safe energy solutions by combining deep technical expertise with a commitment to innovation. As a trusted industry leader, the client supports critical infrastructure worldwide-ensuring uptime, safety, and system integrity for complex power assets.

Core Duties & Scope

In this high-impact role, the Field Service Engineer leads the full lifecycle of service for gas turbines-handling installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair across diverse client environments. Success means solving complex technical challenges on the ground, ensuring machinery performance meets stringent operational standards, and coordinating field teams to deliver results on schedule. You'll serve as both technical expert and trusted customer advisor, blending hands-on precision with strategic problem-solving.

Military Alignment

This position aligns well with military veterans who've maintained, operated, or troubleshot turbine engines and/or high-performance turbine mechanical and/or electrical systems. Ideal backgrounds include shipboard Gas Turbine Systems Technicians, Power-Generation Equipment Repairers and Aircraft turbine engine mechanics. The role's structure, field environment, and leadership responsibilities are a strong fit for those with mission-critical maintenance experience under variable conditions.

Schedule, Modality & Tools

The role is remote-based with frequent domestic & international travel to customer sites, including power plants, industrial facilities, and energy hubs. You'll be provided with all specialized tools required for field service operations. This is a hands-on engineering position requiring adaptability, situational awareness, and readiness to lead technical teams in the field while leveraging modern diagnostics, vibration analysis, and alignment tools.

Location & Travel

Because the role is remote, you can live anywhere in the continental United States-giving you the freedom to maintain your preferred lifestyle while building a high-travel, high-autonomy career. Whether you prefer the quiet of the Midwest, the coastlines of the Southeast, or the mountains of the West, this position offers geographic flexibility without sacrificing impact or upward mobility. Travel can be up to 35 days in a row followed by roughly 30% down time at home. An example would be out on assignment for 14 days followed by 4-5 days off at home. You can expect 8-12 hour working days when traveling with paid overtime. You will be paid 80% of your base wage when not traveling. Total annual earning potential can be close to double your base wage. Job 58687
