The Lab Technician's primary responsibility is to provide quality testing of extruded material in accordance with customer requirements and the Aluminum Standards Association guidelines.
Ensure that APEL's activities are performed and documented in accordance with APEL's quality requirements.
Operating tensile testing equipment safely and accurately. (tensile strength)
Measuring techniques to adhere to the tolerances set forth by the Aluminum Standard Association. (micrometers, calipers, routers, etc.) -- measuring distance, thickness of aluminum material
Conducting quality inspections on aluminum before, during and after all processing is completed.
Retrieving and documenting data per customers' spec requirements in Epics (extrusion software)
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address quality concerns.
Maintaining a clean quality lab and manufacturing area.
Promoting the highest quality product, assisting in the leadership and support of the Quality Management System.
Other duties as assigned.
