Job Title: Library Supervisor Positions

Eugene Public Library is seeking two enthusiastic emerging leaders to join our team. Ideal candidates will have a focus on equitable and inclusive patron service, leading access to diverse programs and collections, and creating a respectful, inclusive and supportive work environment for our amazing staff. We are looking for dynamic supervising librarians who can balance the evolving needs of the community and supervision of librarians and paraprofessional staff. Strong communication skills, people-centered approach, project management skills, teamwork, and growth mindset are essential to success. Supervisors may also oversee library-wide programming, collection development, trainings, and community partnerships, along with the needs of their own work group. These roles will be under the direction of the Community Services Manager who oversees Youth, Adult, Branch and Circulation services for Eugene Public Library.

Work Location: Eugene Public Library: Bethel Branch (1990 Echo Hollow Road); Downtown Library (100 W 10th Avenue) Must reside in the State of Oregon and be able to report onsite in Eugene, Oregon for work as needed. May work across all library locations.

Schedule: Full-time: Your schedule will be discussed in the interview process. Must be available to work during the following times: Sunday - Monday: 9:00am-6:00pm Tuesday - Thursday 9:00am to 8:00pm Friday - Saturday, 9:00am - 6:00pm

Examples of Duties Performed: Duties may include but are not limited to the following: Professional librarian and supervisory duties including; leading or co-leading a workgroup and supporting, developing and coaching your staff; leading work in reference and reader's advisory; leading work in collection development and programming; planning and implementing programs, activities and administrative processes; project management for your responsibility areas and to support your workgroup's responsibilities; creating and implementing a vision of service for your workgroup; In Charge of Building (ICOB) responsibilities; administrative tasks such as approving timesheets and time off requests; managing workgroup budget.

Minimum Qualifications Experience: Two years of responsible experience performing professional library work; supervisory or lead experience desirable. Education/Training: Possession of a Master of Library Science degree from an American Library Association accredited college or university. Language Skills: Bilingual ability in Spanish highly desirable for Bethel Branch position. License: Valid Oregon driver's license (or, the ability to obtain by date of hire); must pass a driving records check and, if hired, maintain a driving record that meets the City's standard. Oregon law requires that an out-of-state license holder must obtain a valid Oregon license with appropriate endorsements within 30 days of becoming domiciled in the state (ORS 803.355). Background: Must pass a criminal background check.

Supplemental Information: Bilingual Pay Benefit This benefit compensates non-represented employees up to 5% of their base salary. To qualify for bilingual pay, the employee must demonstrate fluency in an eligible language and pass a language proficiency test that is administrated by the City's Employee Resource Center division. Non-Represented Retirement Program Upon eligibility, the City will contribute an employee contribution of 6%, as well as the employer contribution, to a retirement program administered by the Oregon Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). In addition, the City will pay a 3% contribution to a deferred compensation program if the employee contributes at least 1%. From January 1, 2020, through December 31, 2034, most retirees may work for a PERS-participating employer for an unlimited number of hours while continuing to receive their pension benefit based on HB 2296.
