Description

SUMMARY:Assisting the millwrights with daily routines. Oiling and greasing equipment as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES:INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

• Follow all LOTO requirements
• Must be able to work various hours as needed; days, swing, graveyard, weekends and overtime as needed.
• Own tools that are required for the position.
• Will be responsible for all equipment lubrication requirements.
• Self-directed and able to work independently.
• Participate and contribute in a team environment.
• Possess the ability to follow directions.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• To perform this job successfully, you will need significant mechanical ability.
• Possess understanding of working systems, (baghouses, water reclaim system, sprinkler systems.
• Capable of comprehending lubrication charts and requirements.
• Welding, cutting,
• Ability to work at heights over 60'
• Physically able to lift heavy objects.
• Willingness to advance into a millwright position.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read and comprehend customer notes, many of which will be in shorthand.
• Ability to write legibly.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Ability to operate basic calculator to determine allowable percentage of fall down.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Ability to logically determine when a discrepancy exists between actual material and computer or paper records.
• Ability to clearly communicate with jitney driver, prefinish line operators/graders and supervisors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Ability to walk & stand over 2/3 of your shift
• Ability to use and reach with your hands and arms
• Ability to climb and balance over 1/3 of your shift
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl of 2/3 of your shift
• Ability to life up to 100 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Use of personal protective equipment is required at all times. (Hearing protection and safety glasses)
• General Mill environment. High noise, dust, jitney and pedestrian traffic.
• Frequently carrying 2X4 and 4X4 stickers and 10 lb. banding tool.
• Frequently tasked with multiple orders simultaneously.
