The Eugene Water & Electric Board is currently seeking a Civil Engineer or Engineering Associate to join our high-performing team of engineers in the Water Division.
It has never been a more exciting time to work for EWEB's Water Division, which consists of an 80 million gallon per day water treatment plant, 800 miles of distribution pipe, 25 pump stations, 23 reservoirs, and numerous pressure zones serving almost 200,000 customers through both retail and wholesale contracts. Some of the largest projects in EWEB's Water Division History are in construction or planned to occur over the next ten years. The successful candidate will lead or support the work of planning, scoping, scheduling, and conducting complex engineering work as needed to maintain EWEB's water system and implement the Water Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). The work may involve leading internal teams, performing engineering work independently, and/or managing engineering consultants to develop engineering plans, reports, cost estimates, schedules, contract documents, and other deliverables. Projects will likely include replacing and upgrading water tanks, pump stations, transmission pipelines, treatment plant, and distribution pipelines.
Based on the Water Division's current needs, EWEB is especially interested in hiring a candidate who demonstrates knowledge and experience with planning, designing, and managing municipal drinking water projects; has the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver water infrastructure projects; possesses excellent interpersonal skills; shows a track record of inclusive, respectful, and professional behavior in all interactions; and is motivated to work independently with a high degree of ownership in the work they do.
This position will be filled at the Staff Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Engineering Associate II or III level, depending upon the successful candidate's qualifications. Based on the successful candidate's experience, education, and training, responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Compensation & benefits The starting salary for this position will depend on the level filled, and will be commensurate with the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position:
Civil Engineer, Staff or Senior: $98,877 - $143,079 Civil Engineering Associate II or III: $85,414 - $123,597

Qualifications and experience A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is required at all levels. Experience and license/certification requirements are as follows:

Location This position is based in Eugene, Oregon; however, it has been approved as a hybrid work arrangement involving a combination of telecommuting and working on-site (at least two days per week with additional on-site presence as needed). The selected candidate must live in the state of Oregon.
