The Public Works, Engineering Division's Transportation Planning Team seeks a driven and collaborative person who thrives in a team environment. The team works with government partners and community groups to develop and implement short and long-range plans, develop multimodal transportation projects including new pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and design streets. They also obtain financial resources to plan and build projects that lead to a complete, comfortable, and safe multimodal transportation system.

Transportation Planning's programs include:

• Implementing the Eugene 2035 Transportation System Plan (TSP), including policy and program development and capital project design and development.
• Implementing the Eugene Vision Zero Action Plan.
• Coordinating planning efforts locally and regionally.
• Transportation Options programming and outreach.
• Procurement of grant funding.

Currently, there is a need for an Assistant / Associate Planner to help with a wide range of projects on the team. Depending on the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the successful applicant, this position may be filled as either an Assistant Planner or an Associate Planner.

Assistant Planner - $38.55 - $41.13/hour; $80,184 - $85,550/year
Associate Planner - $42.04 - $54.64/hour; $87,443 - $113,651/year

Job responsibilities include supporting multimodal capital projects, assisting with corridor studies, analyzing traffic crash data, updating plans and policies, collaborating with planning staff, reviewing projects, applying for grants, communicating with the community, conducting stakeholder engagement, and more. The role may also involve serving as a project manager for transportation planning projects.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of urban multimodal transportation planning, report preparation, current practices, and software like Adobe Acrobat Pro, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office. Spanish language skills are desirable but not required.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in urban and regional planning, transportation, civil engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is desirable. Experience requirements are one year for Assistant Planner and three years for Associate Planner.
