Job Definition

The Customer Support Specialist provides customer and sales support, including entering and maintaining sales orders, purchasing, pricing, over‑the‑counter sales, and supporting external sales staff.

Responsibilities

• Answer emails and telephone calls from customers and assist them with their needs, such as product identification.
• Enter and maintain sales orders and expedite existing orders.
• Accurately quote product to customers.
• Purchase product directly from manufacturers.
• Assist and support outside sales staff, including customer follow‑up.
• Identify and document cost savings.
• Capture over‑the‑counter sales from walk‑in customers.
• Perform occasional warehouse duties, such as shipping and receiving.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year(s) in a customer service or sales environment preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Outlook and general computer skills.
• Excellent communication and telephone skills.
• Exceptional math skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds of product.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic product knowledge of bearings and power transmission products, with emphasis on mechanical aptitude.
