Medical Assistant

We are hiring for either one full-time position or two part-time positions, please apply to the posting with the desired hours. Salary Range: $22.50 - $23.85 per hour. Salary Note: Bilingual Candidates are eligible for an additional $1.50 Bilingual Differential. This Bilingual Differential is not included in the salary range above.

Position Summary: This position works with a medical team and/or an outreach worker to provide street-based medical care to people experiencing homelessness. This generally includes assisting with assessing the patient, documentation, and administering treatment. Medical Assistants will also provide phlebotomy in a clinic setting as well as in an outreach setting. This position will assist the Nurse Practitioner by providing scribe services, processing orders, and maintaining patient care records using an Electronic Health Record.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Provides appropriate medical services and medical support services, including information, lab coordination, phlebotomy, pharmacy coordination, vitals, and coordination with both psychiatric and medical providers.
• Communicates information to internal & external partners using the referral process.
• Assist Nurse Practitioner in scribing, documentation, and follow up.
• Document patient information, condition, and treatment.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients (including inventory).
• Operate and drive agency vehicles in conjunction with applicable safety policies & laws.
• Provide basic medical care and gather patient data.
• Participate in required training and meetings.
• Assist supervisor/manager with all necessary reports.
• Ability to work well with others, handle stress appropriately, have reliable attendance.
• Other tasks as assigned, including training/cross-training other staff as needed.
