Position Summary
This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE/8 hours per day position working on the CL-12 (260 days per full school year) schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.

The ECCO Outreach & Recovery Coordinator works with ECCO (Early College & Career Options) Administration and Secondary Directors to plan, direct, coordinate, and assist the secondary student population through providing support of the secondary alternative education access for special population students, referral process, and monitors outcomes and movement within programs to completion. The position provides oversight and support of community partner programs supporting high school special population matters.

This position has the following expectations and prerequisite abilities.

  2. Thorough knowledge and understanding of limited access/equity differences; sensitivity to issues and concerns of special populations and other diverse groups.
  3. Demonstrated ability to relate effectively with special populations students/families, and school staffs; ability to gain the trust of others and establish credibility.
  4. Ability to effectively communicate, disseminate, and effectuate verbal or written communication and directives to a diverse group of administrators, staff, and the broader district community.
  5. Maintain a high degree of professionalism, integrity, dependability and maintain a high level of confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and adherence to the competent and ethical educator practices.
  6. Promotion of equity and diversity in all settings and processes and a commitment to anti-racists principles.
  7. Maintain compliance with state and federal laws governing all aspects of our agency including ORS, OAR, IDEA, FOIA, and CIPA.
  8. Exceptional prioritization of tasks, timely completion of work assignments, ability to take the initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
  9. Demonstrates respectful, flexible and effective teambuilding skills of cooperation, communication and active participation.
  10. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directives, find requested data and present in user-friendly formats for internal and public distribution.
  11. Maintain regular attendance at work. Be punctual in meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and following schedules.

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered qualified as determined by Human Resources.
Education & Experience
  • Must be Highly Qualified according to No Child Behind (NCLB); AND
  • Graduation from a two-year college with major course work in education, community services, human services, recreation, public administration or related field; and at least two years of experience in recreational programming, social services, human services, community services or related areas; OR
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university in education, community services, human services, recreation, public administration or related field

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Sociology, Ethnic Studies or related fields.
  • Bilingual proficiency and/or multicultural experience
  • Ability to acquire First Aid certification upon request
  • Experience in multicultural, multi-ethnic school/community environment, preferably as a teacher or social worker
  • Experience in community-based work, erg. Community Development, Human Services, etc.
