$25.64- $38.46/ hour, depending on experience and in accordance with Oregon's Pay Equity Act.

Position Overview:
The City of Springfield is seeking a Court Clerk to be part of a fast-paced, professional team that provides excellent customer service and assistance on the phone, in person, and through email/virtual environments. This position is responsible for preparing correspondence related to plea dates, responding to case-related inquiries, and processing payment of moneys owed to the court. Court Clerks also attend court proceedings to complete real-time data entry, prepare and process essential sentencing documents and court orders, and ensure accurate and timely case records. Education/ Experience:
Previous court experience is not required. The City will consider any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to meet minimum qualifications. Such a way to meet minimum qualifications could include:
• Associate's degree, or two-year technical certificate and sufficient experience necessitated by the competency level, and;
• Minimum of three years (full time equivalency) in an environment with high-volume interactive customer service contact, high-volume data entry, completing tasks with frequent interruptions, and multi-tasking clerical functions.
Preferences may be given for knowledge and experience:
• Spanish language skills
*Upon passing the bilingual proficiency test, there is a 5% increase on base rate of pay for the bilingual language incentive.
Licenses and Certifications:
• Possession of, or ability to obtain security certification (CJIS) and law enforcement certification (LEDS) within 30 days of hire and maintain certifications throughout the course of employment.
This position will have access to the Springfield Justice Center and must obtain CJIS certification. Please note that in order to acquire CJIS certification, the individual cannot have any felony convictions, and any other criminal record is at the discretion of the certifying agency. CJIS requires finger printing as well.
Selection and Interview Process:
Top candidates will be asked to complete an online typing assessment to demonstrate the ability to type 45 wpm, net typing speed.
Finalists will be invited to interview, and candidates will be emailed directly with additional information.
As a part of our selection process, it will be necessary for candidates to provide the names and email addresses of up to five professional references (including two managers) that can provide information on work performance. To avoid any delay in the process, we ask candidates to start gathering reference information now (name, email address, contact info and time period you worked together). Additional information regarding reference checking will be emailed to candidates at a later date through the SkillSurvey Pre-Hire 360 system.
The selection process will include: reference checks and criminal background check.
