Resident Assistant

(PRN | On-Call)

The Resident Assistant will serve as a companion to our residents. The ideal candidates must be able to tactfully handle difficult situations and be adaptable to the resident's needs.

Starting at: $17.00/HR

Schedule: On-call (16-30 hours per week | Hours will vary - Weekend availability required)

Location: Hillside Heights Rehabilitation Center - Eugene, OR

Responsibilities:

• Support residents to and from scheduled appointments (pushing wheelchairs and provide fluids) as needed.
• Assist in scheduling and transport for appointments following admission.
• Assist residents with their activities of daily living, encouraging residents on their personal cares such as: oral care, personal hygiene, nutrition, and personal appearance.
• Set up personal care items for residents (toothbrush/toothpaste, comb, brush, etc.).
• Assist residents with applying, removing, cleaning and storage such items as glasses, hearing aids, etc.
• Assist residents with dressing and grooming, consistent with weather conditions and according to their needs, wishes and desires.
• Support resident's participation in activity programs, assisting them (when needed) to the activity location and encourage participation in the activities.
• Respond to call lights but do not perform any direct patient care - referring to such requests to the CNAs/Nurses.
• Assists in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment.
• Ensure residents have water and snacks in accordance with their dietary restrictions, if any.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other employees to deliver excellent customer service to all.
• Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company software.
• Must pass criminal background investigation, reference inquiry, and vaccine mandate attestation requirements of either having been vaccinated or present documentation needed for a medical or religious exemption.
