Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 (Depends on Experience)

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY: Food Ingredient Buyer

Role Summary

The Food Ingredient Buyer is responsible for sourcing, supplier management, risk mitigation, and supply chain optimization. This role focuses on sustainable procurement, cost savings, and continuous improvement of purchasing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with global suppliers to ensure quality, value, and sustainability.
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts; conduct cost and scenario analyses.
  • Monitor market trends and supplier performance to manage risk and discover new sourcing opportunities.

Sourcing & Sustainability:

  • Lead sourcing strategies aligned with company sustainability goals.
  • Assess suppliers for quality, capacity, financial stability, and ethical practices.
  • Manage long-term supplier relationships to strengthen the global supply network.

Supply Chain & Process Improvement:

  • Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies.
  • Manage purchase orders, invoices, and inventory levels.
  • Analyze procurement costs and introduce process improvements.
  • Support ERP and system upgrades to enhance operational efficiency.


BACKGROUND: Food Ingredient Buyer

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 3+ years in purchasing or supply chain management (food or ingredient experience a plus).
  • Proficiency in MS Office; ERP experience (X3, SIA) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Project Management or Lean Six Sigma experience a plus.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 40%.
