What You'll Do
As a Machinist Apprentice, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with setup and operation of machining equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinders to support manufacturing tasks.
- Learning to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Measuring parts with precision tools like calipers and micrometers to ensure quality.
- Supporting the building, repair, and maintenance of tools, fixtures, and machine components.
- Performing basic shop duties including material handling, cleaning, and organization to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assisting experienced machinists with daily production activities and troubleshooting issues.
- Following all safety procedures and shop standards to ensure a safe workplace.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- A strong mechanical aptitude and enthusiasm for learning a skilled trade.
- Basic math skills and keen attention to detail.
- The ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
- An interest in machining, manufacturing, or hands-on technical work.
- Physical ability to lift materials and stay active throughout your shift.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Prior shop, construction, or mechanical experience is a plus but not required.
