Administrative Support Volunteer - Online Research
Organization: The Cat Sanctuary — A 501(c)(3) Cat Rescue Location: Eugene, Oregon (Remote/Virtual — work from anywhere) Positions Available: Up to 5 volunteers Time Commitment: 2-3 hours per week, flexible scheduling Minimum Commitment: 6 months preferred
About the Role
Behind every cat we rescue, every foster placement we make, and every adoption we celebrate is a team of dedicated people keeping the details accurate, organized, and up to date. Our Administrative Support Volunteers are the quiet engine that keeps our rescue running — and their work is every bit as lifesaving as the hands-on care our cats receive. Without accurate records, timely data, and well-maintained systems, we simply cannot operate at the level our animals deserve. This is a fully remote position, making it an ideal opportunity for detail-oriented individuals who want to make a real difference for cats in the Eugene community without leaving home.
We are building a small team of up to five Administrative Support Volunteers, each of whom may focus on different areas of need depending on their skills and availability. Whether you have a background in office administration, data management, research, or writing — or simply have strong organizational instincts and a willingness to learn — we want to hear from you.
Primary Responsibilities - Online Research
Online Research Administrative volunteers will conduct a wide range of online research tasks to support our rescue's operations and programs. Research assignments may range from identifying veterinary resources, grant opportunities, and spay/neuter programs to gathering behavioral issues, regional rescue networks, legislative matters affecting animal welfare, supply vendors, and community outreach opportunities. Compiling lists of local potential donors, etc. Volunteers should be comfortable navigating the internet efficiently, evaluating the credibility of sources, and summarizing findings clearly for staff and other volunteers.
