Material Handler

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving materials and finished goods, as well as picking and packing these items daily. You will ensure that the quality, type, and quantity of materials picked and packed are accurate and that the appropriate documentation, such as packing lists, is present. Your role will involve examining, sorting, arranging, counting, storing, picking, and packing items for storage or shipment, in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive materials and finished goods, and perform daily picking and packing duties.
• Verify the quality, type, and quantity of materials picked and packed, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Examine, sort, arrange, count, store, pick, and pack items according to established procedures and customer requirements.
• Prepare routine documentation related to materials handling.
• Prepare and ship materials and finished goods promptly, adhering to customer requirements.
• Safely operate distribution equipment as needed.
• Complete other related duties as required or assigned.

Essential Skills

• Experience in warehouse operations.
• Proficiency in using a forklift.
• Knowledge of inventory management.
• Skills in material handling and warehouse inventory.
• Experience in shipping and receiving.
• Ability to pick orders efficiently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in general production and packaging.

Work Environment

Work in a warehouse setting under varying temperatures, including room temperature (59-86 degrees F), cold-room (36-46 degrees F), and freezer-room (minus 4 - 23 degrees F). The role requires safe operation of distribution equipment and adherence to quality policies and control standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eugene, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
