Description:

Volunteer Opportunity: Social Media Assistant

Organization: HOPE Animal-Assisted Crisis Response (HOPE AACR) Location: Remote Time Commitment: ~10–15 hours/week, flexible based on deployments and events Compensation: Volunteer (unpaid) — great for building a portfolio and giving back

About HOPE AACR

HOPE Animal-Assisted Crisis Response is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose canine teams provide comfort and support to those affected by crises and disasters. We're looking for a volunteer Social Media Assistant to help us tell that story across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.

What You'll Do

    • Capture and/or receive photos and video from our Regional Managers, and turn them into polished, on-brand content
    • Draft clear, engaging captions in HOPE's brand voice (plain language — no acronyms)
    • Help plan and schedule content to keep a consistent posting cadence
    • Produce short-form video for Instagram Reels, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn
    • Monitor engagement and flag notable comments or messages for follow-up
    • Share and engage with partner agency posts that mention HOPE AACR

What We're Looking For

    • Basic graphic design skills (Canva or similar) to prepare and brand photos
    • Strong written communication and attention to detail
    • Comfort using hashtags strategically
    • Self-starter who can meet deadlines and collaborate remotely with Regional Managers, Board members, and consultants
    • Willingness to fully learn and follow HOPE AACR's Social Media Policy and Policies & Procedures Manual, especially around privacy

Why Volunteer With Us

This is a hands-on opportunity to build real social media management experience — content strategy, scheduling, video production, and community engagement — while directly supporting a mission-driven crisis response organization. Flexible, fully remote, and a great addition to a marketing or communications portfolio.
