Warehouse Worker
The Warehouse Worker plays a key role in the smooth flow of materials through a large distribution facility. This position focuses on receiving, picking, packing, and stocking a wide range of plumbing supplies, from long metal and PVC pipes to small fasteners and endcaps. You will use RF scanning devices, material-handling equipment, and basic computer systems to ensure orders are accurately processed and inventory is correctly maintained.
Responsibilities
- Receive, pick, pack, and stock items accurately according to order requirements and inventory procedures.
- Use RF scan guns to locate, identify, and track inventory throughout the warehouse.
- Correctly pick and pull the specified item types and quantities for customer orders and internal requests.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and push carts safely and efficiently based on inventory type and load size.
- Organize and maintain the staging area according to priority, ensuring orders are ready for processing or dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, including sweeping and mopping as needed.
- Operate computers at the will-call booth to process item look-ups, check availability, and assist with order placement.
- Assist internal and external customers with product identification, inventory status, and order inquiries in a professional manner.
- Handle materials of varying sizes and weights, including maneuvering loads up to 100 lbs as required.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines to reduce risk and ensure a safe workplace.
Essential Skills
- Previous warehouse or general labor experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to count items accurately and maintain attention to detail when picking and packing orders.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver loads up to 100 lbs safely and repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Experience with RF devices (electronic RF scan guns) for inventory tracking and order processing.
- Experience with order picking and warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory handling.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and push carts or a willingness to learn and be certified as required.
- Basic computer skills to operate systems at the will-call booth for item look-ups and order entry.
- Effective English communication skills to interact with customers and coworkers and to understand work instructions.
- Comfort working in both indoor and outdoor areas in varying weather conditions, including hot summers and cold winters.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Receiving-focused experience in a warehouse environment, including checking, unloading, and organizing incoming materials.
- Experience as a material handler with responsibilities such as order pulling, shipping, and receiving.
- Familiarity with plumbing-related materials, such as metal and PVC piping, bolts, and fasteners.
- Experience working in large warehouse settings with diverse inventory types and sizes.
- Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic in physically demanding roles.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and organize staging areas to support efficient workflow.
- Comfort assisting both internal teams and external customers in a service-oriented environment.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large warehouse filled with plumbing supplies, including 1015 foot pipes, small bolts, and fasteners. Work takes place in both indoor and outdoor areas regardless of weather, so you should be comfortable working in very hot summer conditions and very cold winter conditions. The environment is active and physically demanding, involving frequent lifting, maneuvering heavy materials, and operating equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, push carts, RF scan guns, and computer systems at the will-call booth. The facility emphasizes cleanliness and organization, with regular sweeping and mopping to maintain a safe and orderly workspace. Typical warehouse attire is expected, suitable for manual work and variable temperatures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eugene, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
