Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our Surgical Services team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the sterile processing unit.

Responsibilities

• Manage the cleaning, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards such as ANSIA/AAMI, AORN, and Title 22.
• Utilize tracking systems to monitor sterilization processes and equipment availability.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to optimize workflow.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Schedule

This position requires availability for weekends, holidays, and on-call duties, operating on a rotating schedule every fourth weekend.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) preferred.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
• Ability to push and pull carts, tolerate prolonged standing, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including phone etiquette.
• Computer literacy is required.
• Knowledge of tracking systems is preferred.

Work Environment

This role operates on a mid-shift schedule, specifically from 15:00 to 23:30, ensuring that operational needs are met during peak hours.
