LITIGATION LEGAL ASSISTANT: The Eugene law firm of Gleaves Swearingen LLP seeks a litigation legal assistant. This position includes (1) drafting pleadings, motions and appellate documents and filing them with the court, (2) performing administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, etc.), (3) maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes, organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices, (4) assisting attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests, and (5) gathering relevant information from a variety of sources.
Requirements include (1) strong communication skills, (2) being highly organized, detail oriented and a self-starter, (3) proficiency in Microsoft Office, and (4) ability to work collaboratively with both attorneys and staff. Knowledge of, and experience with, litigation pleadings, motion practice, discovery, and court rules, procedures and practices is strongly preferred but not required.
